Connecting customers and transfer dealers
When you buy a firearm online or from an out-of-state seller, it has to ship to a local federal firearms licensee (FFL) who runs the background check and hands it over. This directory helps customers find a nearby dealer who accepts transfers — and lets dealers publish their transfer policies, fees, and hours so the right customers can find them.
Shipments to FFL's that Don't Accept Transfers
If your firearm is shipped to a FFL that does not accept transfers, you will likely incur extra shipping fees to re-ship the firearm to a FFL that does accept transfers. Additionally, this can delay your shipment by days or even weeks. Some FFL's are only open one day a week and carriers make multiple delivery attempts... Verifying your receiving FFL accepts transfers will save time, money and serious headaches!
